Plenary Session: Debris Management
Moderator:  Bruce Everetts, IL Environmental Protection Agency

This session will present the national debris management guidance.  The session will also present 3 case studies on debris management regarding three different natural disasters.  Hurricane Ike (TX), Wildfire Debris Management (CA), Coffeyville flood (KS).

ICS Training: This session will present NIMS ICS for Executives (ICS 402) and will provide a certificate for attendees. (This training will run from 1:30-3:30 PM)

Option 2, Part 1
Moderator: Leo Henning, KS Department of Health and Environment

Natural Resource Damage Assessment: This session will provide a case study of an Emergency Response Action that was coordinated with the natural resource trustees.  The session will outline how the information gathered during the response action was used by the trustees to pursue a NRD claim.  The session will also provide a discussion of the restoration actions and the recovery of the injured natural resources.

Option 2, Part 2
Moderator: Leo Henning, KS Department of Health and Environment

Data Management: This session will describe the SCRIBE data management program.  This newly developed data management system provides first responders a tool to organize data during an emergency situation.  The SCRIBE system organizes the environmental monitoring results and tracks the sampling locations and provides information that responders can use to make decisions concerning future actions.

Option 1: EPA Special Team’s Resources/Capabilities
Moderator: John Regan, NH Department of Environmental Services

Panelist: Kevin S. Guarino, US EPA Region 8: Presentation on EPA’s special team including their Decontamination, Radiation, and Field Sampling.

Option 2: Pre-event Planning
Moderator: Ellen Malenfant, DE Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control

This session will present information on preparation and behind-the-scene activities for two large public events from a local/State perspective and Federal perspective.  Presentations will cover inter-agency coordination and resources needed for each event. The State/Local perspective will describe a President-elect and Vice-President-elect pre-inaugural travel event. The Federal perspective will focus on the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver, CO.
